Drug free is a lifestyle, straight edge is a subculture, and that subculture is based in hardcore. I'm edge, I also like ska, but they are two seperate things.

i'm drug free, and listen to hardcore, but do not claim edge. edge, hardcore and drug free are not mutually exclusive, being drug free and listening to hardcore does not mean you are automatically edge.

yea most people claim themselves edge when they are drug free and listen to hardcore unless there not planning to stay drug free
