The rules of SXE?

Does anyone care to list The ( or their) "rules" or "quidelines" that define sXe?

There seems to be some differences in opinion esp. in regards to sex and eating meat.

for me it's pretty simple
no alcohol, no drugs, no tobacco and an involvement in the subculture. Half of it is ideological the other half is based on actions.

so what do you say to all the xers who claim you have to be vegan to be edge?

wow..cool. i've been struggling with the feeling that if i am going to align myself with something like sxe that i need to go full out. And so many people seem to say you Have to be at least Vegitarian and really should be Vegan. I know there are references to Veganism/Vegitarianism in many sxe bands lyrics but i couldn't find any by the bands whom I consider to be the origin of SXE; Minor Threat, Teen Idles, S.O.A., Government Issue.

yeah, the vegetarian part didn't come until youth of today, and the vegan part didn't until the original hardline kids and then larger acceptance via earth crisis and path of resistance. most people will just admit that these are beliefs that co exist but that aren't dependent on each other.

i don't do drugs in any recreational capacity or in anyway that is not for my benifit on a medical level. i support the scene and i eat pizza.

Damnit! Noone told me that pizza was one of the rules! How often do I have to eat it? I've not eaten pizza for 4 weeks, have I broke edge?

due to the mankyness of vegan pizza you are excused and only have to eat it once a year :p - couldn't find any of that melty cheese from redwood by the way.

for me sxe remains no alcohol, no smoking, no casual sex. i'm vegetarian but i quit eating meat before i went edge.

Ya im mostly the same way. No drugs, No Alcohol, No Sex/oral (unless you have been goin out with the person for a long time and like them alot)

whats a long time, i used to think 3 months was a long time prior to that i would think a month was a long time, nowadays i think a year isn't that long.

i think its less the amount of time, and more the seriousness of the relationship

not how long youve been with them, but how long you plan to be with them. and if you can say "when we break up..." you shouldnt be together, let alone having sex

well i was very serious about a relationship that lasted 3 months, i have never said during a relationship "when we break up" does that mean that a relationship of three months is ok to have sex in?

I know people who've were in a "serious" relationship" that lasted a week. or a night. you know that one night stand, you might be planning on being with them forever.
