the slogan used 2 be "dont drink, dont smoke, dont fuck" ive heard that there are all different understandings of sXe. meaning that if a sXe kid had sex... is he still edge? can u still be edge and still have sex? r the rules realy set in stone? or can u do what you wish?

no, those were song lyrics to out of step. a song that also included "this isn't a set of rules" but people tend to forget that. The general consensus is that sex isn't related to straight edge.

really? sex is entirely unrelated? I was under the impression that straight edge put a ban on promiscuos sex.

what makes you think that it is? some people will make statements that it is, but the behavior and the words of people involved, just doesn't support it.

I've been on the outside looking in from a far. So my information is often flawed. Which is why I'm here at the site before I decide to go Straight Edge.

dont get too caught up in the label of sxe. do and be exactly what and who you want to. if you end up choosing to not do drugs, smoke, or drink AND you love and support hardcore...then you're straight edge. until then your just looking in. good luck.
it's also important to note that many drug free kids into hardcore still dont call themselves edge. just have fun and be yourself!

if this was a relpy to my post, that's not what i was saying at all. sxe has 4 set rules i can think of, dont do drugs, dont smoke cigs, dont drink alcohol and support the hardcore scene as best you can...but you should only call yourself sxe if you are down with those rules in the first place. be yourself is what i said...if that self fits in w/ an edge lifestyle...there you go, if not, dont try to be what your are not.
