Not really, a zine is normaly short for fanzine and is a DIY publication put out by the kids for the kids.

They are normaly a great way for people to share information, and in the world before the internet the best way to find out about new bands, even with the internet they are possibly the best place to find new bands.

As to some good one that are still going, that's the harder part to answer.

I thought it was something like that but was kinda confused as there is so many of them out there and stuff. Thanks alot folks. I will check those out and let you know how I get on.

just ordered Define The Meaning issue 1, and whilst I was at it ordered the Earth Crisis DVD, so now I am a happy bunny, just got to wait on it coming now.

Also, I have a friendly lass on myspace who buys in and sells zines so am gonna have a look at her stuff maybe message her. She sells badges, stickers, zines, CD's, Tapes, Vinyl you name it and she is big into her straight edge merch, anyone wanting a link to her page?

Except it's not so much about the buying on the internet that's a good way to get them these days, but you can normally find them at you local indie record store (if you're lucky enough to have one) at shows, venues, all over the place. A lot of distros carry them like the girl you were talking about and travel around.

The great thing about looking for zines at shows etc is the things you'll find!

under the rose the AFI fanzine is alright, got some funny factos in it. Smith is a legend.
