Could one be sXe despite the fact that they had a drug problem at one point? I have since rectified the problem (which was the result of a poor homelife), and am now drug, alcohol, and tobacco free. Since I was never sXe, I never strayed from the edge. Could I be straight edge since I have now adopted the anti-drug views of other hardcore fans?

I know a shitload of edge kids who are recovering addicts.

That's exactly the view that I had on the subject, but I was told that it wasn't true so I figured I'd check.

i'm a recovering addict whio's trying his best to be edge. i dunno if i count as edge or not because of how much i fuck up, but even tually i think i'll get there. I try my best to hold true to the philosophy.

I think if your hearts truly in it you're considered edge. Few things are harder than trying to overcome something more powerful than yourself; Look at how many people never succeed in it. That's my humble opinion anyway; I'm probably wrong.

i still don't think i get to wear the X's untill i'm cleaned up. i'd just make edge look bad.

yeah i used to do a lot of stupid shit. i still struggle but straight edge ideas are the only things that are for sure in my mind.
