just out of curiosity, is fighting against straight edge? i know theres different scenarios where each fight can be debated, but i mean in general.

however straight edge is a non violent movement, it doesn't have any restrictions on fighting, it's just hardcore kids being drug free.
if no fighting was included, it would be pretty hard to tell which kinds of fighting are bad.

the way i see it fighting is something you do when you have no other choice and its not a nice thing. The saying that sums fighting up for me is: If you think you have a fighting chance of winning then you aren't fighting, you are sparring.

And when you do have to fight for your own safety etc. i really will not be in a position to think about how it relates to straightedge or not. Straightedge is not about using violence to get its point accross but then that isn't really fighting. If your safety is threatened and you have no other choice then you have to fight and i see no plausible way straightedge can be against that.
