For me it was easy but there was a gradual lead up. I was already interested in hardcore so by the time i decided to be straightedge i'd pretty much identified with what that meant and was about. I found that the lead up wasn't about being straightedge so much as it was just me questioning what relevence things like drugs and alcohol had in my life and when i saw that i had no interest in those things it just became quite natural to call myself straightedge as it accurately described my person. I still take the time to question things to ensure they are still relevent, that includes straightedge. I think its the best way tomake decisions that are relevent to yourself.
