View Full Version : What makes you truly edge?
I have been considering myself straight edge for a couple months now, but I've been wondering if i really am what i think i am. I do consume caffeine, and I suppose that is considered a drug. I would never poison myself with weed, tabacco, cigs, alcohol, etc.
I am a very big fan of hardcore music, but im a bigger and more active fan of ska music. Hardcore comes before ska with me.
Sorry if I sounded confusing, im just trying to find some answers.

So you're a bigger more active fan of ska yet you say hardcore comes first? That confused me. If you consider caffeine a drug why do you use it? I personally think you have to answer these questions for yourself, if you are calling yourself straightedge then you know what it means surely. If you are having a hard time fitting caffiene's consumption into this stance i would suggest first and foremost examining where you personally stand on caffeine.
Oh, I'm sorry. I meant ska comes before hardcore.
About the caffeine, I just consume it whenever I eat foods most people would normally eat or drink. mainly soda. I dont take it to get on a "high" or whatever too much of it will do you you. Thank you for the advice, I will defenitly have to think about it more before I call myself sxe or simply drug free.

heres my life on plate for you.
i have always loved hardcore since the early 90s (yes i started very young)
i have always been anti hard drugs and fags.
i did drink for a time didnt do much for me, just made me angry then upset and quite offen very silly.
iv been a vegi all my life because i love animals and i was rasied that way by my parents.
i hate caffine in hot drink but i do consume the odd fizzy drink, thats once in a blue moon though.
im proud of being straight edge, i dont do it to fit in the crowd because there aint one,
im the only sxe kid round my area that i know of.

ska gives me a headache, not that i dont like ska, it just gives me headaches, thats all.
I love ska, and not venturing too off topic, i became a straight edge because i've always been very anti-alcohol, anti-drugs, etc etc and before making up my mind fully on becoming a straight edge, i tried drinking a few times and all those times all i found was i get pissed off and tired when i drink, not to mention that it gives me a hell of a headache right after i drink it. im an Asian, and seriously, my face went PALE and stayed that way for the rest of the night. Thats when I knew I was destined to become a straight edge lol. sorry i just had to bring that up when u meantioned that you get a headache from listening to ska
