hey guys,

i have been edge for a few years now and i am PROUD of my edge. what im after though is some help. i dont understand anyone that isnt edge, i mean why would you want to contaminate your body and mind? what im in turmoil about though is the state of the world nowadays and how this fits in with my edge.for instance. the air is so polluted that we dont know what we are inhaling, it could be anything. i am seriously considering going to buy some of those face mask's you get from the DIY store to wear, im very concerned about the air, and i think you should be too.

my second concern is money. i mean paper notes. tests have shown that over 95% of paper notes show up traces of cocaine. what does this mean to me? im going to take the positive stance and cease my usage of paper money. again, i think that those of you that are serious about SXE should also follow suit. i propose a possible campaign, to either have notes cleaned, or taken out of circulation and replaced with coins. i dont want no drug money in my pockets. just think, every note you use to pay to get into a show with will probably have DRUGS on it. its completley not desired.

finally, i am concerned with the water that we drink. it is contaminated with so many chemicals that it is a third strike in the fight for straight edge. i CHOOSE not to pollute myself, i CHOOSE to take a stance but now the only pure substance that i can drink is full of chemicals? i suggest, nay, propose that everyone purchases water filtration systems, i have found a great company and im sure if we group together they will give a discount. seriously guys, dont do this to yourselves! take a stance!

But, at the end of the day the sad truth of things is that even if you did wear masks everywhere, pay for everything in shrapnel, and filter your water, there would still be just as many toxins still entering your system by any other means. Edge is about staying off of drugs, not worrying about smog, crappy water etc. I personally don't even stay off drugs because of the "poison" aspect.

Also on the money point, you can't get high off handling a dollar bill. Paper money is dirty and I'd certainly agree it;s wise to wash your hands if you been handling it all day, but the fact it has drugs on it isn't supporting any of the things I am against, nor is it ever going to be able to get me high.

Exactly... Actually, I just watched a documentary recently on the Travel, Life & Living Channel about dirty money.

They examined paper money and found that there's only something like 0.00034 grams of Coke on it, and it's trapped inside the microscopic paper fibers anyway, so there's no possible chance it could even get on you, let alone you could breathe it in.

I wonder what it like for us Aussies though... Isn't our money made from plastic..?

Straight Edge is about being drug free, and avoiding as many toxins as possible so as to live a healthy lifestyle. We're even talking about taking so far as to applying water filters? So why do we insist on drawing big black crosses on our hands with marker pens, possibly delivering even more toxins than any untreated water could at all? Why do we still pierce hole in our bodies and stick bits of metal through? We do we jam ink under our skin? If you think we need gas masks and water filters, then why not just hide in a hole and avoid everything in life completely?

Except straight edge doesn't have anything to do with avoiding toxins. It's about being drug free and part of the hardcore scene. Too many people are trying to add thier on concepts and ideas to straight edge that really have no bearing on it what so ever.

Why avoid one thing unessecarily without avoiding everything else. It's about the drugs and the purpose they are used for.
