Does accidental drug use count?(long)

So I have had a really bad throat for the past couple days. It's pretty much my only symptom because i have post nasal drip right now, if anyone knows what that is, its when you suck your snot in from your nose and too much collects in your throat. So yesterday I was sucking on cough drops because they helped to sooth my throat. But I found out the few we had was the last of a bag and we didn't have anymore. My throat was really scratchy at this point so I went into our drug drawer and was looking to see if my parents had something prescription for strep (what i think i have) or preferably something over the counter like some more cough drops. The only thing that I could find was Wal-Dryl (generic benadryl). I had heard of DXM and people tripping before because I did a school report on it last year. But everything I knew told me you had to take 100mg-800mg of DXM to even feel anything. Wal-Dryl doesn't contain DXM though. Well Wal-Dryl takes at least 250-450 mg to start feeling anything. The bottle only contains 12.5mg per 5mL teaspoon. The back says for children over 12 and adults a dosage of 25-50mg should be taken. I don't think that I exceeded 50mg. Then everything was fine, my throat was temporarily relieved and about a half an hour later i was looking at a picture, and all of a sudden it turned into a cartoon. Right before my very own eyes I saw shapes shifting and the girls brown streaks looked like the top of a rake. And then like I would see a scene happen. Like a girl came by and like used the rake to cut half her hair off. It was unusually weird. Then I just kept seeing strange things and then i became extremely tired. I thought this because I'm on a SSRI(selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor) and that it could counter act(because I thought it was related to DXM) So I decided to go to bed, kind of scared I would wake up. I don't really remember my dreams but I believe in my dream I was hallucinating and knew I was. I wouldn't say that I was badly hallucinating this whole time, but enough to kinda creep me out. The major thing is that I have an addictive personality. I never took any recreational drug before that because I knew I would instantly get addicted. Straight Edge has helped me to not ever try anything. I'm a major sugar addict(at least 200mg a day) and a chronic masturbater. I just can't stop once I start. Today I really wanna take that Wal-dryl again but I don't wanna break edge and more importantly become addicted. So anyways did I break edge? This wasn't for recreational purposes. I consider straight edge to be not doing recreational drugs, because I'm on a lot of add and bi-polar pills for those conditions but they're not for recreational use. If I technically didn't break edge, but took the same amount again for medical usage to relieve my throat and started to trip, would that be breaking edge also? because i would know that was going to happen? Cause its side effects technically since thats not my reason for taking it.

yeah, but it's to treat allergies, not sore throats caused by a virus. I've had to take benadryl for allergies and I've never had it do anything other than put me to sleep.

Like wise, I hate taking it because it doesnt make me feel better, it just makes me tired haha
