I found out Kingston actually has a bit of a Hardcore scene!!!!!
I was at a brown brigade show(yeah I realise not hxc, and judge me if youd like, they are great old school metal) at a club around the corner from my house, and when I got there one of the staff was wearing a guns up sweater, which was pretty exciting for me. Secondly, between sets, they played an entire betrayed album (Substance) which was also pretty exciting for me. This may sound lame to any of you in bigger European or American cities, but for me in Kingston ontario, home of indie rock and techno, it was pretty sweet to see I am not the only one involved with hardcore.

now it's your chance to expand it! book some shows with local bands, that might get things going! the venue is given, and if one of the staff is into hardcore, i think this should work!

No this is a good thing. I would feel the same way here in Scotland too, well it's maybe not that extreme, I would feel the same if I came across someone wearing a shirt from a GOOD hardcore band rather than the crap that gets worn about here. When I was at Gorilla Biscuits I seen a guy wearing a YOT shirt and he had a swatch X on and I was like, holy shit, he can't be from here.
Get talking to the dude who was wearing the GU shirt, there might be some decent stuff going on that you don't know of in your local area. He might be as happy as you about meeting someone into good music.
