I have spoken with Asterix, I accidently assumed it was Bobe though as he contacted me using the I Drink Milk myspace and I didn't know there was a co-editor. But I understand now atleast haha.
Sweet picture.

The Gorilla Biscuits collection isn't mine, I have the S/T 1st press which was hard enough to come by, never mind the whole thing! haha.
I never spoke to him about his ASA collection no. I only have a few records to get and my ASA record collection will be basically complete.

well, ebay can do miracles in time, if you have the money....
check out his myspace site, i think he has his collection put up among his pictures. there's not too much of a chance to complete the collection as i was told because there are some records (test pressigns) which have been handed out to close friends, or their origin is unknown or something. i can't remember.
just to stay on topic

A Step Apart test pressings, are well non existent. I spoke to Jasper who was there singer and he doesn't think there was any.
The one record that I will never have, and Asterix probably won't have either is the 7" with the chain of strength rip off cover, it was limited to 20 and was only given out to close friends of the band, each has a personalised message for every friend, I don't think I'll see any of those for sale ever. The records I do need are the regular pressings of the 2 7's which are very easy to get hold of, just haven't got round to it yet. I'll go check out his page just now.
Oh one other thing, I have an ASA hoodie and shirt that are one of a kinds that I bought from Jasper, so basically nobody in the world can have a full ASA collection anyway including the merch anyway that is.

I don't see a picture of an ASA collection on his page but I did see his TFS collection which is pretty awesome! I should have roughly the same TFS stuff as him within the next month or so, most recently I got the OHACM 12" test press.

no way, he's not selling anything. i was just talking generally. you can compile a great collection of rare records it's only a matter of money.

These are not my collections, I got them from another forum but felt like posting the pics just so you guys can see and be astonished (the collections all actually belong to Jeff who does Start Today fanzine, he has the best collections I have ever seen to be honest) -
TFS collection - I think this dude has every record, I don't notice anything missing at all except the tapes but I woulda left them out aswell to be honest and just show of the records. Maybe one day my TFS collection will be as good as this.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v96/recordpics/TFSnew.jpg
Chain Of Strength collection that belongs to the same dude - man I thought I was cool for having the 7" on Green, this is awesome.

this is something i can't understand. why would someone start collecting shoes, don't wear them, just have them in the box. 80something pair of shoes need a lot of space too.
Same goes to the shirt collectors. Let's discuss!

The same could really be said for collecting absolutely anything though to be honest. Like collecting records, I collect 8 different presses of the same record with the same songs on it but theres no way I'll listen to each one of them. Collecting is a hobby, it gives satisfaction working towards collecting everything, and then when you get to the point where you own everything from say a certain band, you move onto another and could possibly use previous collections to help you get what you want from the new collection. I guess the same could be applied to shoes, you can collect the cheaper, less rare sneakers and maybe use them at a later time as part of a trade to get rarer more expensive shoes. I wouldn't personally collect sneakers but I would like to have a good few pairs of good looking Nikes or 574's.

not really, for example, i collect comics, and i read them daily and study from them to get better at drawing. i still keep them in plastic bags and most of them with a cardboard. in that case my collection is useful, as a way to study and to get something to read.
i never understood collecting records though, and i understand even less collecting shoes

But most collections are the same in the sense that they are a good investment.

only if you sell them, and that would make you a crappy collector

No not really. I mean you can own an item that doesn't really mean much to you, but to someone else it might be an item they are really wanting and it would mean alot to them to own it. So this item can be used to gain cash to buy something that you would really like to add to your collection, or it could be used in a trade to gain something you really want for your collection.
I didn't mean a good investment as in, finish a collection, hold onto it for a while and then just sell it for the money. I wouldn't see the point in even collecting if this was your overall aim.
