don't get me wrong I love ALOT of NYHC bands and all, but don't you think that its just a little overrated anymore. Everybody always talks about it, and it just gets on my nerves sometimes, maybe its just me.

I don't think it's overrated and the era is just as important as anything else in hardcore if not more than anything else. NY stuff is definitely not my favorite style of hardcore but when it comes down to it bands like cro-mags and sick of it all are always going to be all time favorites. Also I feel NY hardcore was what really pushed the agression in hardcore to a new level and you can hear that in bands from around the same time period, even in the faster/thrashier bay area california bands.
