Is straight edge??? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_Before_Dishonor_%28Boston_band%29 isn't calling death before dishonor like calling madball or agnostic front straight edge? On a lighter note. I FOUNDS ME SOME JUDGE/DYS/R.A.M.B.O. woot! I still don't believe death before dishonor is straight edge. What do you think?

I don't really understand how calling death before dishonor straight edge is at all like calling madball straight edge. Death before dishonor is a straight edge band, Madball is not.

What makes you think they aren't a straight edge band?

What makes me think they aren't is their lyrics. They have no straight edge related topics. Let me explain, Death Before Dishonor is one of those classic hardcore bands, like madball, or sick of it all(not saying that sick of it all sucks, THEY RULE!) but, like they just seem too tough guy to be straight edge. I mean their lyrics are too much like Blood for Blood's lyrics. I suppose I could check Death Before dishonor though.

Yeah, I was listening to them today, and they fucking rocked! I am actually thinking of getting their other cd wall of death the system, I could've picked it up today, but I was like" THAT'S NOT THE SAME BAND". Oh well.

They have an entire album called True til Death.

Yeah, I've actually been trying to find those lyrics for that album on the internet. No such luck yet. Oh, and on their myspace, there is a picture and the captions under the picture is drunk. So, maybe they broke? I listened to them on youtube, and I like the song Break through it all, because the bass line is awesome.

Whilst you could very well be right about DBD not having straightedge lyrics it really isn't akin to blood for blood lyrics. I mean blood for blood lyrics actually talk about and advocate drinking in a lot of their lyrics and are probably more vocal about it than some straightedge bands are about not drinking. Of course with DBD's rather vauge lyrical style it could be possible that a number of their songs are inspired by and pertain to straightedge but thats just a possibility and you certainly would be forgiven if you were to miss that. But yeah they are definitely not similar to blood for blood lyrically.

DBD is not an edge band, Bryan smokes cigs.

Yeah, I dunno why Mouseboy thinks they are edge either. I seen them in Glasgow and the singer was outside smoking a cig before they played.

Wait, Cigarettes aren't edge?!

On a less sarcastic note, I suppose I was given wrong information. I was under the impression they were an edge band. I thought that the song true til death was about straight edge. Ah well, I don't care either way, I like the band whether or not they are edge. My bad.

yeah, i read it in an interview ttd is about being true to hardcore and themselves or something like that (kinda like COS, except they used it as a lame excuse, and DBD never claimed edge)

Yeah I am sure I heard or read the whole True till Death thing was regarding being true to hardcore and not being edge. But you can see how it confuses people, and especially those dumb Canadians by the looks of things. (I joke because I care <3)

Listen here sheep shagger. Apparently its a common misunderstanding, so the ethnic insults are uncalled for.

Haha! I knew they weren't, because I had my wits about them. Also I sort of had an edgedar lol. You can tell if a band is straight edge by their lyrics, and DBD's lyrics were not edge that much.

I don't get it either, i always thought it was an insult reserved for new zealanders and welsh people, unless of course there is something else that actually that makes sheep shagger a relative insult.

In his song "Evil Scotsman" billy connolly makes constant reference to himself as a sheep shagger. I just assumed that it was an insult towards the scottish.

It's an insult to Welsh people more so but the Scottish do get called that too.

Here in Scotland we typically refer to people from Aberdeenshire as sheep shaggers.

But the Welsh.....Those guys are all at it with there nice welly boots and velcro gloves.

Look at the source-Wikipedia. I HATE Wikipedia. I went on a three minute rant about it today in my classroom. I told my students that if they have Wikipedia as a source on their persuasive essay, I'm docking 10 points.

This bugs me...., now I know they are not a straight edge band, nor are all of the members are straight edge. What bothers me is, when you say "too tough guy to be straight edge", are you stating you have to be a posi-core 104lb. kid to be straight edge? What entitles the personality of a person to be edge?

Wikipedia is just for checking something for curiosity in your spare time, not for a report is what the create says but when teachers go on those rants they make kids believe that everything on there is fake and wrong and they should never go on there.
