yeah, i do that a lot, and meet up with friends at the show.
shows are great places to make friends, so i'd suggest don't worry about going to a show alone.

I do it all the time. I have very few friends with the same music tastes as me so if I didn't go to shows by myself, I would never go to shows.

Yeah, I do. If I'm going to something out of town and no one is interested in going with me, I go on my own. If it's local or somewhere I've often gone to shows, then I usually will know people once I get there.

I would go to shows alone when I first moved to AZ. My husband doesn't care for hardcore, nor the scene, and most of my friends aren't into it either.

Fortunately I have an "in" at most shows because I used to write a zine and be a reporter for the local paper, so I'd just go up to any zinester or band member and start chatting him/her up. Unfortunately, I know that not everyone is extraverted, so this may be hard for you. I would look for shows that are put on by the same people--promotion team. It will most likely have the same people, so if you keep showing up, someone will approach you. Just a thought.

thank you very much the city I moved to doesn't seem to have that much of a scene because it isn't as rough as the one I lived in before...but I've seen a few bands I like who had tour dates for here. I don't have a problem with being outgoing & I kind of figured I could just do it like that but I haven't been to any in a long time so I didn't know or notice before how many people go to shows by themselves. Thanks though
