One of the politicians in my country has hired a detective to find stuff out about a rival.
Now i'd like to hear your opinion, is this allowed in politics or not?
(What he was searching for was if the politician had corrupted money and such)

Why shouldn't he? His rival is free to do the same, Exposing corruption doesn't seem so bad even if his intentions weren't completely out of compassion but rather for self gain.

because if you're using government resources chances are that people will get paranoid about corruption charges and conspiracy theories. using an outside party side steps all of that.

So the last news i heard about it is.
The findings of the detective was not to be released because they found nothing.
The corruption trail ended in a weird construction of finances that they couldnt understand.
So the politician who ordered the search kept the file secret, then a journalist 'accidently' found the file and released it.
Big shock in belgium because the politician went on a search by himself without following any official way.
This is just Belgian politics at its worse since the elections are comming up in 2 months i guess.
