just came back from the show
definitely one of the best shows ive ever been to
the venue was small
and there were only 30 something ppl
(but i prefer less ppl)
the two support bands were pretty awesome too
esp the 1st one its made up of 15,16 year old kids
they are probably the future of the hong kong hardcore scene
the 2nd one was king ly chee also a local sxe hardcore band established for almost 10 years
(http://www.myspace.com/kinglychee)
generally the show was pretty awesome

but the sad thing is
i saw ppl smoking and drinking before/during the show
it really made me mad coz after all, its a sxe show
and why cant u just fucking control urself for 3 hours?
and there was this kid wif low rise jeans
dancing off beat and doing all these ugly moves
i shouldve pulled his pants off or something
despite all that it was a good show

this thread reminded me the first step's show some friends of mind went to in italy. Took a long ass drive to get there, and the band played for 10 people. I know now those italian kids who didn't show up would kill for a TFS show.

its alright man
you guys can come if you want to
like if you dont care how little people there will be at your show
after all its just an experience right?
and a opportunity to spread your music and beliefs
but i can assure you if u guys are really coming me and my frds will be there
the hardcore scene in hong kong is small but true and passionate
i almost see the same crowd every time i go to a show

idk a lot bout records label and stuff but if u guys are really coming i think you can contact start from scratch records
http://www.startfromscratchrecords.com.hk/
they held most of the hxc show in hk (prakway drive, have heart, misery signals, come back kid etc. and some other hxc bands from asia)

awesome i appreciate the info! sounds similar to the philippines as far as the scene goes! we played with hh last night and it was a super fun show... there were more than 30 kids but the local bands only shows here are kind of small and i enjoy those!! small shows at small venues are my personal favorite! thanks again for the info!!!!

I'm not really into metal influenced hardcore. So, I think King Ly Chee is way cooler! =)

well i was into metalcore first so i prefer more metal stuff
the first actual hardcore punk band i heard was probably suicidal tendencies (1st album, later stuff sucks)

btw king ly chee's old material
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fjjBMOBxCpc&feature=related
i think they were more metal like
and they had a different vocals back then too
but i like the current one more
Riz (current vocals) were playing the guitar and support vocals in the video
and u can notice how pathetic the hardcore scene in hong kong was back then
sigh...
