The Raid demo was released in 1989 and the first hardline release was in 1990. Regardless of the politics twenty years ago, hardline brought veganism and environmental direct action to the scene. I dont think anyone could dispute that.

it did. it also brought sexism and homophobia along with it. It was a shitty negative thing 20 years ago and it still is now. It's not something that should be celebrated.

There are many issues with Hardline in general that i haven't agreed with for nearly twenty years, but Raid never had any sexist or homophobic lyrics. Many Hardliners might have had that stance, but there was some diversity of opinions on that matter. Shortly after releasing the Hardline Records release many of the first wave realized the movements shortcomings and bailed. Raid is playing for fun and the memories. Despite the short three year life of the band, veganism and radical environmentalism was left in its wake. That indisputably was started by Raid and later co-opted by other later (and more commercially successful) bands.

"Blood Green" and "Above The Law" are solid songs, though I will not be going to this show. However, I may be going to see Vegan Reich if they ever do get around to that reunion.
