I am quite amazed at how many people are telling facebook how sad they are at her dying yet next to no one has mentioned how sad they find all the deaths in oslo.

its definitely not a contest but just seeing the sheer number of people that have made comment about her on their facebook pages yet i don't think i saw anyone's status mentioning the sad incidents in oslo. Its just odd how people react to one but not the other.

Lots of people care more about celebrity news and stuff, I think.

I guess people feel a greater familiarity with celebs, like people have read and learnt about all the ins and outs of this womans life so they probably find the loss to be much more personal. I however was just way more effected by those in oslo.

Yeah, same here. But I don't know if that's because it's way more tragic or if it's because I never liked the damn woman.

what's the point though? The woman was clearly suffering and ended up losing her life.

what boggles me is why people love her so much, they've been making comments about how since she was 27 she's up on a list with kurt cobain or jimmy hendrix. i dont make fun of the death, but i do think she has a weird crowd that liked her for reasons that i dont really get.

The whole 27 years and dying phonomenon is odd, but I haven't come accross anyone with odd reasons for liking her. They all seem to admire her singing and all I'm sure would have liked to see her overcome her problems with drinking and drugs.
