so, our webhost is apparently shutting down. I'm going to see about moving everything somewhere else, but due to the lack of activity may not. it'll all depend on cost and level of effort necessary.

That sucks. Hopefully you can find something somewhere else, but its definitely understandable to base it on cost and effort. Hopefully something works out though.

I'd make sure nothings on the servers but I'll be keeping the domain just not necessarily the forums.

I forgot all about my email...i used to have the login page bookmarked but don't seem to anymore, where do i go to login to my email?

I hope something can be found so we can at least make it to 10 years!!

Thanks, i just went through the email, its been a while! One unread email was telling me the iphone 3G was comming!

How long till they shutdown?

don't know. email I think will be staying up for a while/indefinitely though.

no, this is just temporary until the new site can get migrated. I'm going to try and move everything intact, but that may or may not be possible, so people need to be prepared to having to register again and post a lot.

Mm I have this personal Linux (Debian) server and I could well offer you to host sxe.com there for free. It's not in any type of DC, but it's parked on a telco's site with reliable power supply and uplink is reliable too. How much traffic do you receive on this site?

enough that it'd need to be in a dc. I have another host lined up, I'm just waiting on my current host to unlock the domain and give me a backup of the db. once i have those it'll hopefully be a relatively seamless transition.

I need to post more, this place has been one of the few places that kept me sane i think, I just need to get over the internet hermit thing I've been hung up on lately

Ouch, no fun when host's go under... Good luck, hope you can keep the site up! Hopefully the transition to the new host won't be too bad...
