I don't think a lawsuit from a band who think that magnets are a miracles and not science will hold much weight. The fact that there are "Juggalos" in the world blows my mind.

I think "biggest announcement in our career" says enough.

So you guys don't think they'll win the argument? I wish the gathering would have gotten raided.

Their lawsuit makes no sense anyway. They are asking any "juggalos" who have been arrested, or turned down for a job, etc, to come forward as if it was listening to ICP that caused it to happen. How would being a "juggalo" even come up in a job interview or a pre-flight screening? If I tell a potential employer in an interview that I listen to ICP, I am an absolute moron and obviously I am not going to get the job.

That's fair, didn't really think of things like that. Still think the whole thing is ridiculous though.

I think it's ridiculous that they're trying to fight it, not that they're listed as a gang. It's going to be an uphill battle, but it'll be fun to watch.

Oh I agree, but I'm curious to know what has happened for Juggalos to end up being listed as a gang. I can't imagine they just arbitrarily throw names on a list, I would assume there is some sort of reasoning behind it. I mean, I have met some pretty messed up "juggalos", but I just can't see them being grouped with actual gangs like MS 13.

It is a pretty bullshit classification.

No arrests, no classification.

I just don't see "Juggalos" organising themselves in a way that is comparable to organised crime. They might be more prone to possession of weed, and petty crimes, but to group them with gangs like MS 13 and the Latin Kings who are actually organised crime units just doesn't seem right. The document even says that their crimes tend to be sporadic and individualistic. I see it more as correlation rather than causation. I don't think ICP has any legs to stand on in their fight with the FBI, but I can see why they might be pissed about it.

I don't think ICP has any legs to stand on in their fight with the FBI, but I can see why they might be pissed about it. You're thinking about gangs in some kind of linear way, that are all organized, have a defined leadership, are all the same, and that's not necessarily the case. I don't think citing felony assaults constitutes a petty crime. I'm confused how you could read the report and thing that it's just a matter of weed and petty crimes. Now, the better parallel to draw would be motorcycle clubs. Where not all members are criminals, but does have a criminal element. If I were ICP, I'd not be trying to glorify violence, and then bitch and complain when it gets the attention from the authorities when violent criminals end up being attracted to your message.
this is after all the ground that gave us lyrics such as:
Juggalos, do ya thang
Get, get, get, get loose
Get, get, get, get loose
Get, get, get, get loose
Gon' and break it down
Now pull your hatchets out, Juggalos
Pull your hatchets and put 'em in the air
Cause it's time for somebody to die in this bitch

"Most crimes committed by Juggalos are sporadic,
disorganized, individualistic, and often involve simple
assault, personal drug use and possession, petty
theft, and vandalism."
that was the only reason I used the term petty as an example. I wasn't referring to felony assualt and drug trafficking as petty crimes.
But even the criminal element of motorcycle gangs is still highly organised. And if somebody joins a group like the Banditos or Hells Angels, whether or not they are commiting criminal acts, they know exactly what they are signing up for. If on the other hand I joined a local riding club that had nothing to do with any criminal activity, but because its a group of bikers suddenly my group is labelled as a gang, then I would have an issue with that. The term "Juggalo" refers to all ICP fans, so I think the classification unfairly groups any legitimate fans out there with the ones actively involved in criminal activity.
But to be honest, I don't really know why I am defending ICP or Juggalos, because I think they are the biggest jokes out there, and the two self procalimed juggalos I have met in my life were not exactly stand up guys. I just thought the classification was interesting probably because I am from a suburb in Ontario, Canada, so my knowledge of gangs and gang activity is pretty limited.
