that's a shitload of a jobs to be lost in one place. Does this affect you at all?

Not me, but a lot of families. It looks like Ford contacted some politicians via email a day before, but they didn't even bother to show up to tell the people the next morning.

That is crazy. The media here makes it sound like Ford is in great shape. That is also a crazy amount of people to lose their jobs. I work in Oshawa, which is the GM hub of Canada, so I see how awful layoffs can be first hand, but numbers are never even close to being as high as 10,000 jobs.

Well, it should be around 5000 people that work in the Ford factory, and another 5000 that work for Ford suppliers. Oh yeah, 65.000 people live in the city where the factory is located..
