What does everyone consider hardcore? because I know people who may not be considered harcore but at the same time are edge. they're more emo, but then, is emo considered hardcore? just curious as to people's opinions on this one.

I don't really get the question. Are you asking about what is hardcore music or are you asking about the larger scale subculture of hardcore that includes straight edge?

I'm referring mainly to the music. like, people say you can't be edge if you don't listen to hardcore music. well. what is considered hardcore music? some people would interpret it as meaning hardcore rock, like metal, or hardcore punk like NoFx or Rancid, but also it could be interpreted as meaning hardcore in meaning. similar to more emo bands. I'm soort of confused on this.

its refering to hardcore which is a genre of music in itself. not rock or metal or punk or emo or pop or any of that. And for the record there is no way you could intelligably interpret nofx as hardcore punk.

check out Bane, 7seconds, gorilla biscuits, champion, strike anywhere, turning point, in my eyes, terror, floor punch, shai hulud for a bit of a cross section of hardcore, theres a list of hardcore bands on this site somewhere for more.
