i wouldn't recommend speaking on it as long-winded as you type.

is there anyone else in your area who is x, cause i think it'd be cool to provide raw footage...?

yeah a couple of my friends are x but i live in a somewhat small place(Lakeland fl) and most kids here it's drink and smoke till you pass out, like most other places but so far i know of 1 other person that is; by any chance if anyone in here is from lakeland however that would be awesome
and on what i know so far not much past the basics it's for the music and the whole thing on the main page i little more but not much more that i can think of off the top of my head
also i have taped a couple of shows for friends and for tv prod. but it's nothing to be for a sxe package unless it's what not to do

florida has a ton of edge kids and a decent hardcore scene. you just need to find some shows to go to.

also, you really should look into the history. If you read through this section there are book suggestions that you should check out.

there is enough edge info on the net; you could probably get the necessary material for your project. plus, you always have us at this board, your family of companion edgers! (so keep doing what you're doing... ask the questions that cut deep!)

The net also has a hell of a lot of false information, so you kind of have to be really careful. Picking up some zines would be a good idea too.

btw, here are some site recommendations:

this first one seems pretty thorough. a lot of research went into this documentary-style account of sxe. keep in mind that the culture has somewhat evolved since the underlying days of yore (but i feel that the story should still be passed on...) http://www.antigreg.com/features/straightedge/

second, this is a link to Directory.net (http://www.directory.net/)'s directory of sites in for the sxe subculture. i didn't get a chance to look at many of these, so again, use your best judgement... http://www.directory.net/Society/Subcultures/Straight_Edge/

good luck.
